Membership Info

Membership in Ekoji Buddhist Sangha is open to all persons who earnestly seek to practice and study Buddhist teachings, without regard to race, color, creed, sexual preference, national origin, gender, or age.

There are two kinds of membership, Associate and Participating. Each reflects different levels of commitment and support.

Associate members

  • receive the newsletter published by the Sangha
  • have use of the library of Buddhist books
  • do not vote for Directors or Trustees, nor do they vote on other Sangha issues.

You can become an Associate member if:

  • you have attended the Sangha's programs or activities regularly for at least three months.
  • you are willing to financially support the activities of the Sangha

Participating Members

  • receive the newsletter published by the Sangha
  • have use of the library of Buddhist books.
  • are eligible to serve as directors or trustees of the Sangha
  • are entitled to vote in any election of Directors or Trustees and on any other matter placed before any meeting of the Sangha for consideration and approval

You can be a Participating member if:

  • you have attended the Sangha’s programs or activities regularly for at least three months
  • you are willing to financially support the activities of the Sangha
  • you are committed to help with the activities of the Sangha in various practical ways, such as maintaining the temple and grounds
